Something Old features The Quiet Pools by Michael P. Kube-McDowell. The Quiet Pools sat on the 1991 Hugo ballot for Best Novel, the same year The Vor Game won it. Kube-McDowell lost the trophy and wrote one of the smartest “should we even go” novels of its decade anyway.
Something New(er) provides a review of He Who Fights With Monsters by Shirtaloon (Travis Deverell). This is another LitRPG fantasy series opener that helped define the modern genre. Read the review to find out what all the fuss is about.
