Two kinds of stuck — which one costs you more?

I wrote a post about this (The Chapter You Can't Write): sometimes stuck means "push through," and sometimes stuck means "the book is telling you this chapter doesn't belong." The expensive part is you only find out which one it was afterward.
Writers here: what's your tell? How do you know when to force the draft versus when to listen to the resistance?
